My favorite tool to keep my inbox organized

I don’t know if I’m the only one here but I will sign up for just about anything if it’s free. (You don’t even want to know what my fiance & I would do for a free t-shirt.) This character flaw of mine has created quite the chaos in my inbox. SO much so that I have three email account, one of them solely for subscriptions. It’s my decoy & it’s insane.

it had gotten to the point where I didn’t even open my email to get the actual GOOD stuff I signed up for & I missed out on tons of valuable information that could really take my business to the next level. & worst of all, I missed out on returning client work because the decoy email had once upon a time been my business contact email. I felt terrible that my loyal clients had gone months with no reply from me & were left feeling unappreciated.

I set out to clean that bitch up, one day at a time. I started scheduling a small block of time every day to go through & Kon Marie it into submission. The problem was that to unsubscribe from old contacts was multiple slow steps with 2, 3, 4 pages of crap to make you stay with them & every time I deleted one, another one came. It was taking freaking FOR.EVER

So, when I found Unroll.me, it was a total game changer. It took me 12 minutes, count them, 12 to go through the clutter & zero dollars. I started by signing into the email I wanted to clear out (fun fact, I did all 3 email accounts) & it scanned my emails to see what I had going on. This is what it found:

I simply went through the list, decided what I wanted to unsubscribe from (sorry Forever21, your clothes don’t fit this mom-bod anymore) & what I wanted to keep (bring on the Target deals, baby!) I also had the option to create a Roll Up email that I could get every week of some of my favorite subscriptions all in one email from UnrollMe so they wouldn’t clutter up my inbox with multiple emails. Here is where I ended up:

Honestly, I could go through another time to even better clean it up but this start had me doing a happy dance. Seriously, ask my fiance, it wasn’t cute & I can’t dance. But I can now focus on the things I need NOW & I can remember to enter all of those HGTV giveaways so I’m totally going to win a whole home makeover soon, just watch.
